The gallery, established in 2024, is a fresh addition to Brisbane's cultural precinct, South Bank at 38 Hope Street, with its focus on critical perspectives and captivating narratives within contemporary printmaking, papermaking and artists books. Featuring established and emerging artists, PARKER Contemporary fosters dialogue around these evolving practices, expanding the understanding and appreciation of works on and of paper within contemporary art.

Under the guidance of Gallery Director Emily Parker, PARKER Contemporary is driven by an expert eye and a deep passion for contemporary printmaking and papermaking. Emily provides specialist knowledge and a vital space for dialogue and discovery, ensuring the gallery is an active and ever evolving space for these mediums.

Amongst the associated artists of the gallery, works are held in Australian and international collections, including the British Library, State Library of Queensland, Harry Elkins Widener Memorial Library at Harvard University, Museum Meermanno Huis van het Boek, Griffith University Art Museum, University of Queensland Art Museum, Toowoomba Regional Gallery, National Library of Australia, Queensland University of Technology Art Museum, HOTA, QAGOMA and the National Gallery of Victoria alongside private collections.
